8/24/2023 0 Comments Crossover for work linkedin![]() Now, this ignorance was bliss because this led me to do my own #businessdevelopment I didn't know that there were training vendors who work with freelancers to serve corporate training assignments. I was like any new joiner starting their career - scared, anxious, cautious, and hopeful. I was confident about training but was not confident if I would be able to manage training as a business for myself. I was a trainer at Dale Carnegie Training Institute before starting on my own. I wasn't sure how will I get my business! ![]() In 2016 when I started as a #salestrainer, initially I was quite scared. So I believe its the same with everyone here. I expected a lot more thoughtfulness and correct actions takekn in that regard. Therefore, its a bit annoying that companies like these still follow the old and outdated systems of candidate selection and recruitment. ![]() Like, if a person fails at math then he/she is defeinitely not worth it when in actual, he/she might be the master of that field. But in contrast, this platform fails to understand to spot real talent as its processes are not effective I would say. For example, a post for Content marketing manager or a Content Director should include a round of assesments that hold real-time problems and allow the candidates to show their expertise by bringing quality and sustainable solutions to the table. I believe what they require is an all-rounder and not the expert of a specific field/domain. I did apply at Crossover once and was amazed to see the round of tests that were less about the job post/nature and more about acing mathematics, logical reasoning and what not. I have learned long ago that micromanagement is not how you get the best me to show up at work.ĭo you have any experiences with Crossover? This was bad for me, resulting in me working extra, reworking things as I attempting to change my processes, "faking" it, or simply working longer to attempt to make my hours." A variety of coworkers and management in my history have almost universally commented about the volume of good work I produce. However, their tracking software and systems simply don't credit anything other than linear, constant "work". "As others have pointed out, it's difficult to actually *get* credit for a full work week without working extra. For me, I work in bursts followed by small distractions in which I'm running the problems in the background of my thoughts. Here's a direct quote that addresses the biggest red flag: Reviews talked about micromanaging employees, not getting benefits (it is an hourly gig), poor job security, and the need to be a workaholic to succeed. While the job in question boasted a large salary, a lot of the comments made me question if it was worth it. Actually, they're just above the middle with 3.3 out of 5 stars. If you looked at the photo attached to this, you already know the reviews.aren't great. Once you get through all the assessment rounds, it's time to wait for your score and see if you'll be asked back for an interview.īecause I was asked to interview for a role, actually one held internally by Crossover (they also post jobs for other companies), I figured I'd look up the company reviews on Glassdoor. Luckily, the content could be previously published, so I used the exercise as an excuse to write a blog for my own website. I was asked to fill out a personality quiz and write some marketing content. The next round was a real work assessment. For one application, I had to do English speaking and English writing assessments. ![]() The first included some basic questions you may see on an IQ test - mathematics, logic questions, and more. Next, you may be asked to complete a number of skills assessments. If you don't meet the basic fit questions, you're not moving on, no matter what else you bring to the table. The worst part about this section is that there is zero room for nuance. You may be asked questions about your years of experience, work in a certain industry, soft skills, or achievements. These are meant to pre-qualify you for the rest of the rounds. You are asked some questions about basic fit. The application process runs about the same way for each position: The company shares compelling and tempting remote jobs, with large salaries and interesting job descriptions (I mean, why WOULDN'T you apply for a job with a 200-400k salary?) If you haven't seen a job posting from Crossover, I'd be surprised. I applied for a job at Crossover for Work.

8/24/2023 0 Comments Common boa careYour boa should have access to a basking spot at around 90☏. The cool side of the enclosure should be around 75-77☏, and the hot side should be around 83-85☏. Placing the heating elements on one side of the enclosure is an easy way to achieve a cool side, a warm side, and a basking spot. To ensure that your common boa can regulate their body temperature how it needs to, you should provide a temperature gradient in their enclosure. The goal of keeping any reptile should be to replicate its natural environment as closely as possible to keep the animal comfortable, happy, and healthy. Many species will bask to absorb lots of heat, and then move into burrows or shady areas to cool down. Reptiles frequently move between warm and cool parts of their environment in order to keep their body temperature where it needs to be. Cold-blooded animals are completely reliant on the temperature in their environment to regulate their internal body temperature. Keep in mind that boas are a heavy-bodied snake - a recipe for plant destruction - with a slow metabolism and infrequent bowel movements, so you will need to supplement the clean-up crew’s food.Ĭommon boas, like all other snakes, are cold-blooded. ![]() On the surface, a naturalistic and bioactive enclosure may look the same - the difference lies in the presence of a clean-up crew and requiring live plants in bioactive enclosures. The distinction between naturalistic and bioactive substrates is that bioactive substrates include a living clean-up crew and create a self-sustaining environment. Adding some sphagnum moss and leaf litter on top of the substrate will help lock in moisture.Īvoid pine and cedar shavings, as the fumes are toxic to snakes.īioactive substrates are an option for common boas, but a full bioactive guide would be too lengthy to include in this guide. ![]() Misting the enclosure tends to create spikes of humidity rather than a consistent level. This allows you to pour water on the substrate instead of misting, which is much better for maintaining constant humidity. Two reliable examples include:Ī 60/20/20 mixture of organic topsoil/peat moss/play sandīoth of these options hold moisture very well without molding too quickly. Substrate is a huge factor in humidity maintenance, and there are several options for substrate. Common boas are a moderately high-humidity species and require stable, constant humidity in the 60-75% range. It lessens the possibility of a defensive strike when you get them out of their enclosure.Īn appropriate substrate for common boas is readily available both to mix yourself or to purchase. For this reason, we recommend a front-opening enclosure for common boas. Snakes are often predated on by birds in the wild, so it is never advisable to approach them from above. There are several manufacturers of large PVC enclosures, or you can build your own! PVC is also very durable, and lasts a long time if properly maintained. PVC is the preferred material for common boas because it maintains humidity very well. Common boas grow slowly and take an average of three years to reach their full size, so having smaller enclosures that you upgrade accordingly is an acceptable way to keep common boas in captivity. Adult common boas exceeding 8ft in length should be housed in a 8x4x4ft enclosure, while smaller adults can be housed in a 6x3x3ft enclosure. Male common boas usually reach 5-6ft long, so their enclosure requirements aren’t as demanding. Females typically reach 7-8ft long, but sometimes larger. Females are longer and bulkier than males. ![]() Ideally, the enclosure will be long enough for them to completely stretch out. 8/24/2023 0 Comments Paleo blueberry tartThe show stopper in this recipe has to be the middle layer of vegan chocolate ganache. First, the iPhone doesn't need a second camera for depth sensing anymore, it does it only with the primary snapper and the power of the ISP's depth mapping and the data collected from the NPU. The iPhone XS also offers an updated bokeh rendering, which Apple says it has lifted from the most expensive DSLRs. The XS also allows you to adjust the depth of field after a photo has been taken, while the iOS 12.1 update will allow you to do this in real-time from the viewfinder. ![]() You know, like Huawei does this for years. The iPhone XS Max has the same 7MP f/2.2 selfie camera as on the iPhone X, but the sensor has improved in speed if not in resolution thanks to the new ISP. There is one final improvement in the iPhone XS Max camera - stereo recording for the video capture. Yes, finally! But it's not just regular stereo audio, it employs wider sound separation for richer sound and better listening experience. We listened to a couple of iPhone XS Max clips on a pair of expensive headphones and indeed, it's not just a regular stereo sound, it's rich in tones and quite surround-like and that's probably what Apple's calls wide stereo.
